Spectrum International took shapein 1998 in accordance with the vision of Amit Shah, CEO and Founding Director. Strategically, right since inception Spectrum had a clear goal of being an influential contributor within the sustainability market space with a clear focus in and around farming and retail.
Amit was also clear that any organization that he created would be in true sense ‘sustainable’ and it would thus be built on a solid foundation of three universal principles wherein it would:

- 3. Enhance Environmental Health
These principles emanated straight from the life philosophy of Amit’s father and group chairman, Mr. Bharat Shah. A loyal follower of Ghandian principles who has to his credit a career spanning almost 40 years of owning and running various public limited enterprises producing some of the highest quality textiles all while upholding the highest standards of ethical, moral and social values.
In partnership with a small group of farmers in Western India, Spectrum International was one of the first to foray into organic cotton farming within the country. The idea gained a much bigger shape with time and today Spectrum International works with almost 50,000 farmers in multiple states of India training, procuring and selling a wide pallet of sustainable textiles, foods and agro products.
A rich heritage of over 60 years in textiles and over two decades of experience in farming has given Spectrum a unique ability to also offer a host of consulting, advisory and commercial services to various participants in the sustainable space.
It is only as a culmination of all of the above that today Spectrum International is a preferred supplier to various global brands like C&A, H&M, M&S, Tesco, etc. Known in the industry for its penchant for quality and timely delivery, Spectrum is a preferred choice for most companies within the different verticals it caters to for all their sustainability needs.
